St Philip’s Centre has a strong track record of providing training in the area of religion and belief for public, private and community sector organisations. Our courses are tailor-made and we can work with you to design a programme suited to your organisation’s needs. Our programmes educate through community exposure and learning through case studies. Organisations we work closely with include Leicestershire County Council, Leicestershire Constabulary, Leicester City Council and Leicester College.

St Philip’s Centre also offers consultancy and advice on religion and belief linked issues including employment, service provision and religious observance.

Introduction to Religion & Belief Day

Our overview day which includes a visit to a place of worship provides a brief insight into the major world faiths. Participants will also have the opportunity to engage with faith practitioners and learn through open and safe dialogue.

Faith Tourism

Our ten week course combines customer service skills with interfaith cohesion. It enables participants to communicate more effectively to different audiences and how positive messages of faith can be put across. We also run related shorter courses called Rough Guide to Faith Tourism and Faithful Leicestershire.

Understanding PREVENT

In partnership with statutory agencies, this course provides a detailed insight into the Context and Prevent agenda. The course looks into the demographics and dynamics of Muslim communities, theological schools and how citizenship and character are built through Islamic institutions.
